Student Chapters

The Student Chapters of the Alabama Section work to promote the advancement of transportation and traffic engineering by fostering the close association of students with the transportation and traffic engineering profession and the Institute of Transportation Engineers.

Student Chapter members become better acquainted with topics of interest in transportation and traffic engineering through speaker presentations, chapter-sponsored field trips, and student competitions.  They also enjoy discounts at conferences and ITE bookstore purchases, access to job openings and scholarships, and participation in civic engagement and professional development activities.

ITE and its Districts and Sections provide many resources for students to learn about career paths in transportation.  ITE meetings provide an excellent opportunity for student members to make contacts with future employers and new friends with common interests.
